Popularity Rating

As our new president approaches his first 100 day mark, much to do is being made about his popularity rating. Barach Obama currently is sporting a 60% popularity rating, which by the way equals that of his predecessor at his 100 day mark. But does popularity really make a big difference in the grand scheme of things? Sure, a leader can be popular, but how does he run his country? Does he really have the best interest of the country in mind? I personally believe that the country's best interest is on all presidents' agendas, but it's how they go about achieving that goal that sets them all apart. Never in my short life (and it's short when considering the nation's history) have I seen a president reveal delicate intelligence information to our enemies. Is this in the best interest of the country? Say what we want about the predecessor, but he kept our soil safe from attacks, and that is most definitely in the nation's best interest. Let's get our house in order, Mr President, country first, popularity last!
