We all remember Michael Vick, the former quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, and how he was sent to prison for his involvement with dog fighting. Vick is scheduled to be released this coming July and attempt to rebuild his life in a society that frowns on the abuse of man's best friend. Having been released by the Falcons, his possible return to the NFL rests on any team out there willing to take a chance on him and the negative attention he surely will draw.
PETA, the organization which guards the ethical treatment of animals has demonstrated anywhere Vick was present and will almost surely continue to do so after his release. While Vick expressed his remorse for his actions, I believe the need for Vick to go one step further. If he truly is remorseful, I think the ultimate proof would be for him to join PETA and become a national spokesman for them. Michael Vick's endorsement of their cause would carry much clout, not only in view of his popularity, but as a reformed dog abuser as well.
Michael, if you're sincere about your remorse, grab the ball on this one and score one for what is right.
