Winslow, Arizona

Ever hear a song on the radio that just plain sticks in your mind and you find yourself humming, or singing it for God knows how long? Yesterday I was running errands and one of my favorite songs, 'Take It Easy' by The Eagles, was playing on the car radio. The tune features the lyric "Well I'm standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, such a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me". I Googled Winslow, AZ and found a web site named 'Standin' On The Corner Park', which shows the park that was created at the actual street corner referred to in the song that put this town on the map. Thought you'd find the pics below interesting.
The mural shows a fake store front. At the base of the lamp post is a bronze sculpture of a man holding a guitar leaning up against the post.
A closer look at the wall shows an eagle perched on the upper left window ledge, possibly depicting the musical group Eagles, who performed 'Take It Easy'. In the lower left store window we can see the reflection of the girl in the flatbed Ford depicted in the song lyric.
Detailed views if the girl in the flatbed Ford.
A closeup of the statue by the lamp post.
